Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

To manage the relationship between ADCB HR and specific business units, acting as an internal consultant to align HR strategic objectives and initiatives with business and departmental objectives, supporting, developing and implementing solutions in order to embed the Talent Value (TV) framework successfully and adhere with Government legislation, bank policy and UAE Central Bank (UAECB) requirements

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Talent Value (TV) Strategic Partnership

Monitor respective Group and related subsidiaries business strategy and provide them with HR guidance and TV input/insight to ensure the people agenda is considered and included in the business’ strategy in the development plan

Collate with Group and related subsidiaries to gain a deep understanding on their strategic future plans to ensure that TV inclusion and compliance

Provide expert input across a range of HR issues, in order to design and deliver high impact solutions that meet the needs of the business

Translate business and Group strategy to the people strategy, by deriving short/long term talent needs from strategic business plan in order plan for TV inclusion and development

2. Relationship Management

Own the assigned business unit relationship with HR/CoE and provide the ‘voice of the customer’ back to the respective specialist HR teams in order to recommend operational required improvements to internal policy and process

Serve as a thought partner to the business, including subsidiaries, across all TV topics, providing input for all key strategic discussions and challenges in order to apply central talent value best practices and guidelines

Ensure best practices and guidelines are put in place to ensure consistency across the organisation, tailored to the Groups needs and specifies such as the productivity, efficiency, spans and layers improvement, critical role selection

3. TV Initiatives

Set and prioritise TV initiatives/levers within specified departments in order to achieve outcomes by key area, reporting and recommending course corrections when identified

Communicate to HR Centres of Excellence (CoEs) key business/Group pain points in order to provide input on solutions/improvements

Measure talent outcomes and link them to business outcomes in order report on the outcomes of TV compliance

4. Policy and Procedure Compliance

Use and understand ADCB people tools and policies, engaging with Divisional strategic partners effectively to ensure their use across the bank

Work closely with all Divisional Heads to ensure that tools and policies are aligned, enhance employee engagement and ultimately improve performance

Analyse best practice trends and metrics with the HR department in order to continuously drive improvements in tools and policies through external market trends, insight and internal best practice

5. People Management

Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance

Organise and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems

6. Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures

Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders

7. Continuous Improvement

Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the bank’s standards

8. Customer Service 

Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions

Skills

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Minimum Experience

At least 7 years of experience within a progressive HR role

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related subject

Knowledge and Skills

Demonstratable keen interest in the business with a willingness to learn continuously

Detail oriented

Proven self- starter

Ability to work with limited supervision in this individual contributor position

Good writing and communication skills to effectively communicate with management
