Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
To embed and execute ADCB’s enterprise-wide Operational Risk framework and policies in order to ensure that operational risks are managed within agreed parameters.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operational Risk Framework and Policy
Implement and recommend changes to the operational risk framework, policies and standard operating procedures to facilitate effective operational risk management on an enterprise level.
Risk Controls
Review, test and recommend changes to key controls to ensure that controls are designed effectively while also ensuring their proper implementation.
Risk Assessment
Review all new products, processes, procedures (old and new) and vendors in order to assess the operational risks associated with each and recommend remedial action.
Conduct periodic operational risk identification and assessment exercises in order to ensure that all risks facing the bank have been identified and addressed.
Operational Risk Support
Provide support and guidance to relevant internal stakeholders on operational risk matters to assist them with the interpretation and implementation of policies and framework requirements.
Training & Support
Provide training and awareness on Operational Risk in order to promote a risk management and compliance culture.
Provide support to Business Operational Risk Managers in order to assist them with the interpretation and implementation of policy and framework requirements.
Risk Monitoring and Reconciliation
Participate in creating operational risk measurement metrics and obtain the data to measure and monitor performance in order to report deviation.
Reconcile operational risk losses to the relevant general ledger accounts within business to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
Reporting
Provide input to management reports on the status of operational risk matters and measurements to keep internal stakeholders apprised of the status of operational risk.
Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures
Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures and processes covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation.
Adhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner while delivering the required standard of service to customers and stakeholders.
Self-Management
Manage self in line with the bank’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own contribution to business performance.
Customer Service
Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions
Skills
Minimum Experience
At least 5 years of experience in banking with at least 2 years of experience in operational risk or control
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
Knowledge and Skills
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
