Job Description

JOB PURPOSE - 

Implement the proper health and safety standards at all ADCB locations to ensure providing all employees a safe and healthy work environment and that the implemented health and safety system comply with the civil defense, DM and OSHAD requirement.

ACCOUNTABILITIES - 

 

1.     

Fire safety and prevention

Execute and apply appropriate controls to prevent or reduce likelihood of fire across all ADCB locations and conduct periodic inspection on the firefighting system at all ADCB locations to ensure that it continuous to comply with the agreed standards

Maintaining the fire alarm & firefighting systems as per civil defense requirements & standards;

 

2.     

Trainings & mock fire drills

Identify employees from the bank and organize third party training (from a DM, Civil Defense and OSHAD approved training providers) to become qualified fire wardens.

 

Coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure emergency preparedness and that the agreed standards are applied

 

Ensure general awareness for all bank employees with the procedures related to fire alarm, evacuation and the other health and safety systems.

 

Conduct fire drills at regular intervals across all ADCB locations, maintain records and escalate any issues to line manager and functional head to ensure resolution and that the systems comply to the agreed standards.

3.     

Health and Safety

Identify, develop and implement the HSE procedures across all ADCB locations in line with DM, Civil Defense and OSHAD requirement.

 

Ensure that all contractors and external vendors are obtaining approvals / certificates from civil defense as per the procedures upon completion of the civil defense inspection on new premises

4.     

Health and Safety

Implementation

Visit ADCB premises to assess the implementation of health and safety standards and conduct safety checks/drills, identify and rectify breaches and escalate issues to ensure all ADCB premises comply with ADCB and regulatory health and safety requirements/standards

5.     

First aid

Identify employees from the bank and organize third party training (from a DM, Civil Defense and OSHAD approved training providers) to become qualified first aiders.

 

Maintaining first aid provisions across ADCB branches / offices and periodic replenishment.

6.     

Civil defense contracts & safety certificates from Civil Defense

Arranging an inspection from civil defense for ADCB high rise buildings / branches and obtaining building fire safety compliance certificate from civil defense to support the trade license renewal wherever applicable.

7.     

Secured document shredding & Waste Management

Managing the waste management - shredding services across the premises in line with The Center of Waste Management requirements.

 

Providing the Waste Management data to the sustainability team for the annual ESG report.

 

Managing the information security audits for the shredding services

8.     

Customer Service

 

Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions

9.     

Self-Management

Manage self in line with the bank’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximize own contribution to business performance

10.     

Relationship Management

 

Develop and maintain key working relationships with internal ADCB units, Group Heads, business heads, Landlords,  vendors, contractors and various regulatory authorities to the required standard

11.     

Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures

 

Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner while delivering the required standard of service to customers and stakeholders

12.     

Vendor Management

Manage all related health and safety contracts including processing payments and monitoring the ensure that the vendor performance on health and safety requirements as per the required standards

 

Skills

Experience - At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Safety.

Professional Qualifications - 

  • Nebosh International General Certificate
  • GRAD IOSH Membership
  • OSHAD (occupational safety & health center of Abu Dhabi) approved practitioner.

  • Industrial safety
  • Health and safety standards
