Description

1.

Strategy and Plans

Develop and execute a three year strategic plan and an annual operating plan to enable the business to exceed financial and non-financial goals in order to maximise short and long term shareholder value

2.

Revenue Generation

Identify business opportunities and threats for corporate trade products, translate market opportunities into enhancement of existing products and take appropriate action to minimise or eliminate threats in order to generate profitable business

3.

Performance Monitoring

Monitor performance against budgeted revenue forecasts in order to highlight underperforming products/territories and devise remedial actions

4.

Relationship Management

Conduct customer workshops, focus groups, client calls, product and concept research to ensure feedback is obtained on product offerings and relevant modifications made

Monitor overall service standards to ensure quality of service to customers remains superior to competition

5.

Product Management

Manage assigned new and enhanced products throughout their development life cycle, develop new products and modify existing products within budget and agreed schedules in order to gain market share and grow liabilities through new products and existing services

Participate in decision making of product positioning and pricing policies and execute product programmes/launches in conjunction with business development to ensure that new products meet planned revenue and volume targets

Market Research and Data Gathering

Conduct market research to inform new products and business opportunities in order to grow receivable services

Monitor competitor banks and keep abreast of new product offerings/service developments in order to maintain a competitive edge for bank’s trade products

7.

Project Management

Manage projects within the approved methodology, timescales and budget in order to meet the bank’s standards for audit, control and financial reporting

8.

People Management

Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance

Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation

Budget Management

Contribute to the preparation of the business area’s budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon

10.

Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures

Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures and processes covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation

11.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to contribute to organisational and departmental change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment

12.

Customer Service

 

Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions

Skills

Minimum Experience

At least 10 years of experience in trade finance products and solutions for a large bank with in-depth knowledge of trade finance products, industry, freight forwarding, marine insurance and related law and practice

At least 5 years of experience in trade finance marketing

At least 3 years of experience in leading a team

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce

Knowledge and Skills

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Core banking systems

Interpretation of balance sheet/financials/spreadsheets

Analytical skills

Process management skills
