Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
To develop, manage and implement all financial reporting and accounting
related matters within the bank in order to ensure alignment and compliance
with external standards and internal policies and procedures
KEY ACOUNTABILITIES
1.Financial Accounting and Reporting
Maintain, control and monitor all financial accounting
related matters and assist in preparation of financial
reports in accordance with IFRS to ensure that reporting
is accurate and delivered within the timelines set by the
regulators and external/internal stakeholders
2.Budget Preparation
Assist MIS division with information to formulate budgets
and forecast to the required standard in order to facilitate
the delivery of the bank’s budget in an accurate and
timely manner
3.General Ledger (GL)Review
Review the GL to provide reasonable assurance that the
debits and credits are valid, accurate and complete and
give reasonable assurance that the transactions recorded
in the GL are appropriate and compliant with all finance
related policies and regulations
4.Funds Accounting
Maintain and review fund accounting records to ensure
reporting is done in an accurate manner and delivered
within the timelines set by the regulators and
external/internal stakeholders
5.Risk Management
Monitor and comply with risk management policies and
procedures to ensure reporting risks are minimized
6.Business and Analytical
Provide timely and robust financial analysis to support
business decision-making
7.Relationship Management
Develop and maintain effective communication and
positive working relationships with the internal and
external stakeholders to ensure Finance standards and
policies/procedures are well understood by the
stakeholders
8.Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures
Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental
policies, processes, standard operating procedures and
instructions so that work is carried out to the required
standard and in a consistent manner while delivering the
required standard of service to customers and
stakeholders
9.Self-Management
Manage self in line with the bank’s people management
policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure
adherence and to maximize own contribution to business
performance
10.Customer Service
Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service
Standards to deliver the bank’s required levels of service
in all internal and external customer interactions
Skills
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting
Standards - Experience with banking accounting principles and
procedures - Ability to develop and establish financial policies and
procedures - Knowledge of operating and capital budget concepts.
