Job Description

Procurement Specialist

 

JOB PURPOSE:

To review purchase requests, prepare documentation and obtain quotations in accordance with ADCB’s policies and procedures ensuring that all procurement activities and projects are in line with the required standards and that exceptional value for money is achieved.

 

 

  • Sourcing : Establish and maintain rapport with all levels of suppliers’ personnel and negotiate in order to meet quality, delivery and cost objectives Support different departments with tender requests, submissions and requirements to ensure that tenders’ release and closure (award) are conducted on the Ariba system within the required timeframes Handle the RFI/RFP and bidding process, review, analyze and verify all tenders to ensure completeness of requirements before release to vendors in line with the required standards.
  • Purchasing : Support different departments with quotes for the purpose of issuing LPOs as required and assist higher level buyers with the award of bids to ensure that best value for money is achieved Review and analyse all purchases where awards are not made to the lowest bidder and ensure justifications exist. As per the procurement policy before obtaining manager’s approval Investigate and suggest alternative viable solutions using good knowledge of local and international suppliers and procurement practices to ensure cost benefits to ADCB.
  • Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures: Adhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner while delivering the required standard of service to customers and stakeholders.
  • Self-Management : Manage self in line with the bank’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own contribution to business performance.
  • Customer Service : Act as the point-of-contact within the Procurement Departments to support end-users on raising their requests in Ariba Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions.

 

 

Skills

 

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

 

Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of experience in procurement or financial services

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance
