JOB PURPOSE
|
To build data driven models that develop insights on the implementation of ADCB’s Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework and policies to ensure that operational risks are managed in line with the risk strategy and appetite |

Data Quality Management
|
Take a proactive approach to data quality profiling to assess the quality and completeness of the data, reviewing the integration from different sources, cleansing to correct any errors or inconsistencies in the data, conducting validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of data to meet the required quality standards, allowing for better-informed risk management decisions based on reliable and trustworthy data is integrated accurately and consistently
Review current policies and procedures to ensure that appropriate data quality standards are integrated, system validation logics and procedures are in place to maintain data quality over time |
Data Science and Risk Analytics |
Develop data-driven models in order to enhance the operational risk management strategy
Utilise data science and risk analytics tools in order to assist the bank to effectively identify, assess, and manage operational risks within the bank
Analyse large datasets, building predictive models in order to either forecast or predict potential operational risk event exposures and develop strategies to mitigate their impact
Design and build various interactive data visualisations using various tools for business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)/Dashboards
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, risk management, and regulatory requirements in order to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards |
Reporting and Communication |
Design analytical reports, dashboards and presentation collateral in order to effectively communicate implementation progress, compliance, operational risks and their potential impact to key stakeholders, including senior management and regulators |
Innovation |
Support the development, enhancement and implementation of the OR tools as per the roadmap in order to maintain best practices within the bank
Support the framework implementation representing the assessed risk exposure and coverage across the group business units to ensure implementation is within timelines
Contribute to the ongoing development, enhancement and implementation of OR tools, the Risk Library, Taxonomies and the Operational Risk Management System |
Training and Support
|
Support the development of training materials for OR tools to ensure their accuracy of use within the bank
Provide support and guidance to Risk and Control Champions and other relevant internal stakeholders on Operational Risk Management Information System (MIS) and reporting matters in order to assist them with the interpretation and implementation of ORM policy, framework, procedures and guidelines requirements
Support team or other staff within ORM where required in carrying out the ORM responsibilities to ensure knowledge transfer and effective use of resources |
People Management

Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance
Organise and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems |

Skills
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES |

Minimum Experience
|
At least 5 years of work experience of which at least the most recent 3 years of experience should be in ORM, Governance and Control, or Risk Management in a Financial Institution |
Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or any other related field |

Strong background in mathematics, statistics, machine learning Proven ability to build interactive data visualizations using various tools like Tableau, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Access for business KPIs/Dashboards, Sound Python, R, programming skills and computing, machine learning, deep learning, processing large data sets, Analytical skills and strong interpersonal skills Proficiency in using Numpy, Pandas, PyTorch, Tensorflow, Panel, Flask, Django and various cloud computing platforms Negotiation and communication skills Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders at all levels within the bank and be able to relay complex technical concept to non-technical audience Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and other related tools |
