Job Description

JOB PURPOSE :To develop and implement the risk strategy, policy and procedures for
investment products along with monitoring the investment portfolio
performance and maintaining an optimum risk balance in investment
product portfolio that are in line with Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory
requirements

Skills

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Credit Risk Management To formulate the risk strategy, credit policy and procedures for investment products in line with the
Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory norms and implement
the same
Approve and list the securities and modify it from time to
time as per the market changes and requirements
placed by the business and ensure that the mark to
market, margin maintenance and liquidation process is
robust and consistent to avoid any loss out of delayed
execution and collateral deterioration

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES.

 

Minimum Experience: At least 5 years of credit risk management experience in a financial institution with at least 2 years in a team
management role
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Finance stream
Professional Qualifications:  Chartered Accountant, Post-graduation in Management or Chartered Financial Analyst Certificate in Financial Management, Investment Products or Credit Risk Management

Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge of investment products and capital
markets and associated risk Knowledge of credit and market risk management tools Analytical and logical reasoning
Good negotiation skills MS Office – Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Credit underwriting skills
People Management Skills

 

2. Portfolio Management and
Reporting
Deploy effective monitoring mechanisms and build a
comprehensive Management Information System (MIS)
and reporting platform on portfolio performance and
capture and monitor the portfolio lead indicators and use
them to bring appropriate changes in the policy and procedures with an objective to contain the losses and
maintain the portfolio health and profitability

3. Operational Efficiency To ensure that the team meets all Service Level
Agreement parameters including turnaround time, with
an emphasis to reduce and improve rework rate and
process related errors to prescribed threshold with no
policy related errors to ensure delivery of optimum
service standards for both internal and external
customers
4. Constant Feedback Establish and maintain a constant feedback mechanism
between credit, collections, business and policy units on
material observations in through the door applications
and market developments that may be instrumental in
calibrating product propositions, processes and policies
for better risk management
5. People Management Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people
management policies, procedures, processes and
practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and
employee contribution to business performance
Manage the effective achievement of the team’s
objectives through setting individual objectives,
managing performance, developing the team and
providing formal and informal feedback to maximise
overall performance, engagement and motivation
6. Budget Management Contribute to the preparation of the business area’s
budget and manage and monitor the financial
performance against the budget so that areas of
unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified
promptly and potential performance improvement
opportunities are capitalised upon
7. Customer Service Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service
Standards to deliver the bank’s required levels of service
in all internal and external customer interactions
8. Policies, Processes,
Systems and Procedures
Recommend and implement improvements to
departmental policies, procedures and processes
covering all areas of activity so that all relevant
procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that
ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and
innovation
9. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to contribute to organisational and
departmental change initiatives, programmes and
projects taking into account best practice and standards
in the business environment
